Primary Years Programme

The primary curriculum has at its heart the development of core subjects (Mathematics, English, and Science). The skills acquired are transferable in other learning contexts and subjects, alongside developing the attributes of our children to be confident, active learners, and responsible global citizens.

AIS curriculum is based upon the Cambridge International Curriculum but includes additional learning opportunities that we plan for all our pupils to enhance extend and boost the curriculum. We do this through club activities, sports, outdoor learning, social responsibility, adapting the topics taught, and an extensive co-curricular program. At grade 6 level our students sit their first Checkpoint Assessment before getting ushered into secondary.

ICT Starters

The Cambridge Primary curriculum offers a clear framework with structured teaching and objectives in maths, English, and science. It includes integrated and teacher assessments to monitor learners' progress.

Global Perspectives

This program develops key skills in research, analysis, collaboration, and communication, focusing on learning how to learn. It connects with English, maths, science, and ICT Starters. Students in Early years and primary are encouraged to be creative, critical thinkers with an awareness of the changing world. The curriculum integrates core subjects with ICT, languages, art, music, and physical education to foster curiosity and inquiry.

Sciences

Cambridge Primary Science explores four key areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry, and physics. Students learn to evaluate evidence, plan and conduct investigations, analyze data, and understand environmental awareness and the history of science. In addition to science, students also study music, art, sports, and practical life skills.

French

We offer a robust French program to help students pass the DELF international exams and earn certification. Each class has at least one 40-minute period of French daily. Our French department is divided into two levels: Beginners: For students new to French or still learning the basics. Advanced: For students fluent in French who are ready to explore advanced concepts.

Art & Design

Cambridge Primary Art & Design nurtures creativity and critical thinking through experimentation and personal expression. Learners develop skills in concentration, perseverance, and collaboration while exploring diverse artistic perspectives and techniques. The program encourages individuality, problem-solving, and appreciation of art, preparing students for creative thinking and collaboration.

Music

Music fosters creativity, builds confidence, and enhances self-expression and communication. It encourages exploration of diverse musical styles and cultures, developing problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence. The curriculum emphasises performance and gradual introduction to musical concepts, helping learners build a personal musical identity.
